Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Sees Solid Finishes from Ruff in Rounds 1 &2

Bryson Ruff and the Mark Nahrstedt Race Cars team arrived at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) on Monday and Tuesday, June 10th & 11th for Rounds 1 and 2 of the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout filled with excitement for a summer full of racing on the frontstretch 1/4-mile. Ruff’s No. 24 Bojangles’/ Barringer Construction/ Your Pie/ Victory Lane Indoor Karting / Wild Bill Fitness machine was ready to show what it can do after a wreck ended Ruff’s day early at the same track a few short weeks earlier.

On Monday during Round 1, Ruff qualified 5th in the Pro Division, but drew a 1, which put him on the pole for the 25-lap feature event. The race saw a lot of rough racing and an early racing incident caught Ruff in the mix, but he didn’t let that bother him. He regrouped and rallied for a 6th-place finish.

Round 2 was even more chaotic, but off the track rather than on. After the initial qualifying session and redraw, Ruff was set to start 5th in the evening’s feature. However, a technical issue with another driver during qualifying led race control to allow that driver to re-qualify after the main group changing the original qualifying results. After a short heat race, Ruff lined up for the feature and raced his way to a solid top-10 finish.

The team will return to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, June 18th for Round 3 of the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout.
