Bryson Ruff Has Solid Start to the 2018 Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series

Heading into the two opening rounds of the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) on Monday and Tuesday, June 11 and 12, Legends Young Lions racer Bryson Ruff was ready to race for victories. After the first two rounds of the 10-round series, Ruff showed strength, but still left the track wanting more.

With weather causing a bit of havoc on Monday, Ruff and his No. 24 Bojangles’/ Barringer Construction/ Your Pie/ Victory Lane Indoor Karting / Wild Bill Fitness Legends Car team worked hard to make sure his ride was ready for the changing weather conditions. In the feature, after multiple crazy restarts, Ruff was able to weather the storm, finishing fourth.

Tuesday, with Tony and Carson Ferguson and the Mark Nahrstedt Race Cars team prepping the ride, Ruff was able to wheel the No. 24 up to the lead on lap nine of the feature, pacing the field through multiple restarts. However, due to some slick racing conditions due to speedy-dry on the track, as well as contact from another car, Ruff wasn’t able to stay up towards the front of the field. While disappointed with a sixth-place finish, Ruff’s performance in the first-two rounds of the series has marked him as a threat for victories and the series championship.
