After a pair of DNF’s following the stir caused by his first ever Limited Late Model victory in the season opener at Hickory Motor Speedway last month, Bryson Ruff, the Charlie Sigmon Racing team, and their No. 24 Barringer Construction/ Victory Lane Indoor Karting/ Wild Bill Fitness machine raced their way to Victory Lane once again. The controversial tire draw for the Limiteds has always been a concern, but Saturday’s race proved how detrimental it can be after Bryson drew a set of tires that was definitely not up to the team’s standards.
No stranger to adversity, as shown in his last two events where wrecks ended his day early, Bryson persevered once more. After qualifying fourth he settled into 3rd place, finding his groove and focusing on the task at hand. With incredible determination, the young driver worked his way up to second. The leader then suffered a flat tire giving Bryson the clean air he needed. After having leads of up to 10-15 car lengths on the field, the No. 24 crossed the stripe first, giving the team their second win in only four races!
