Winter Nationals a Success for Bryson Ruff

The 2018 Winter Nationals at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida, February 12 – 16, proved a great success for Legends Young Lions driver Bryson Ruff. Entering his first Winter Nationals week-long event since his Bandolero racing days, Ruff took advantage of the time in his No. 24 Bojangles’/ Barringer Construction/ Your Pie/ Victory Lane Indoor Karting Legends Car to get seat time prior to his regular season of racing at Concord Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway back in his home state of North Carolina.

With speed gain and confidence from the driver’s seat, Ruff qualified within the top six in each of the five races. With tough competition and some very intense, caution-filled races, Ruff finished 20th the first race on Monday, and followed it up with a 12th on Wednesday (Tuesday was an off day). On double- header day on Thursday, he finished fifth and sixth, and on Friday, finished a solid seventh. That gave Ruff a ninth-place finish in the Winter Nationals points standings.

With the race team back in North Carolina, they will prep the car for testing at Concord Speedway on February 24, prior to the first race weekend, a double-header, on March 3 and 4.
